This is a handy pack of garden fleece; it seems sturdy enough straight out of the packet but obviously only a season outdoors will tell! I will update this review next year. At a cloth weight of 35 grammes per square metre it sits in the middle of the weight range of similar items on Amazon, which tend to be 30 or 40gsm, and pricewise at £1.24 per square metre is also just about spot on, although there is a 40gsm option out there at £1.20 per square metre (all prices as at time of review, and undiscounted). There are others which are cheaper per square metre but since they do not advertise their gsm I have not included these when calculating the stars I have awarded. So: one star knocked off because you can do SLIGHTLY better on weight and cost, but not much; four stars overall. Recommended.

We finally got a freeze this winter, so I was able to try this out. It is a lot easier than my usual method of finding cardboard boxes to fit over the plants. We haven't had a several day freeze yet, but I like the idea that it lets light through and could be used for a more prolonged period.

This sheet of frost cover is light and thin (thinner than the covers I used previously) but will allow air to flow and light to enter yet keep the frost off the plants. Approx 4-5' wide and 16' long. Hold down with clips or clothes pins.

I live in zone 5b, meaning super cold and loooong winters. When spring finally rolls around, mother nature and Jack Frost have a knock down drag out brawl every year over whose turn it is to decide the daily weather. So we can have 3 weeks of warm late May weather, plant our precious garden babies, and then have Mr Frost come swooping back in to dump more cold and ice on us. A lot of the ‘frost cloth’ on Amazon these days is nothing more than plastic tulle type netting that does NOTHING to protect plants in those situations. This is actually the good stuff, the woven cloth-type material. Do it!
